Earth Crisis - Tour '95

One of the best bands of the 90s, hands down.

For today's rainy/overcast weather, I'm wearing one of my Earth Crisis shirts. A lazy Sunday hang-out with the girlfriend and family calls for it. This shirt was obviously printed for the '95 Summer tour. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that this was the first full-color shirt that Cabal printed.

I'm still tired from last night's Atlanta Hardcore "Locals Only" show. It was wild. Too many stories to tell about it. A full day of hardcore, wiffle ball, good friends, and hanging out. It acted as a benefit for our home venue, the Warehouse, and I think a lot of money was raised for it. Awesome. Stoked on the 'core.

Get an Earth Crisis tattoo and kill your local drug dealer. What would Karl Buechner do?

Snapcase - Steps

Two Snapcase posts in a row, what up!
The model here is not Ryan Gossling, but Brian McGhee. Yeah that's right, I'm guest posting. I fell in love with this shirt as soon as Geoff bought it off of eBay a few months ago. The "Steps EP" is one of my favorite metallic hardcore EPs. I fell in love with this EP as soon as I heard it. So basically I was pretty jealous of Geoff when he got this shirt. Now I'm going to get all lubby dubby. My grandma passed away at the end of March and Geoff was always there to talk to me about the situation since she was diagnosed the second time in January with cancer. I was trying to brace myself for the inevitable, but it was tough. But through it all, I knew that I was going to make it through. Then Geoff told me that he was going to give me this shirt. I was so stoked when he said that. I was almost mad because of how good of a shirt this is. He knew how much I loved this shirt, and he gladly gave it to me like a true friend. This Snapcase is not only an extremely nice looking shirt with track titles on the back, but a gift from a friend.

Don't forget the snuggie, don't forget the shirts. xBobbyx is taking over.

Snapcase - Demo/Victory Records

Snapcase was one of the most unique and loud bands of the 90s. I'm assuming that Victory Records released this shirt sometime in '92 or '93, which was right after they signed Snapcase and released the Comatose 7". This is one hell of a comfortable shirt. Huge print on the front and not one, but TWO Victory bulldog logos; one on the sleeve and another on the back. I'm into it.

As stated in an earlier post, I got this Snapcase shirt from the same Ebayer who sold me that Harvest gem. I was definitely excited to add this to my collection. I love the white/grey color (whatever you want to call it), and it's definitely a good shirt for the summer. Speaking of, fuck the heat.

Now playing:
- Snapcase - Steps EP & Progression Through Unlearning...of course.
- Retaliation - Grind EP. New Bedford Straight Edge.
- Breakdown - Dissed and Dismissed. "You lead a life of bullshit, each and every day!"

Most Precious Blood - Brooklyn Hardcore

Today has been awesome so far, and it's not even noon yet. Despite waking up at the (butt)crack of dawn, I'd say that it was worth it, as I had an interview this morning. I decided to pull out my Most Precious Blood gem. Even though I knew that I'd get the job due to having a massive Brooklyn Hardcore logo on my shirt alone, I had to put on a button-up over it to cover up the 'core and give myself a somewhat professional look. You know how that goes.

I grabbed this shirt on Ebay several months ago and to my surprise, I was the ONLY bidder on this auction and picked it up for only a few bucks. Weird. This band rules and so does this shirt. Great fit, classic look.

Harvest - Living With A God Complex

A rainy day like today calls for a Harvest shirt, one of my personal favorites. Big bold name on the front, posi jump picture on the back; great look. I picked this shirt up about two months ago on Ebay, along with a demo-era Snapcase shirt (which will show up on this blog sooner or later) that I bought from the same seller. Needless to say, when that package arrived in the mail, it was THE best mail day to date. Trustkill released this shirt around the time that Living with a God Complex came out in 1997.

Today, I'm heading to my girlfriend's graduation. Hell yeah for that. I figured Harvest suited this celebration perfectly...just because. Here's to graduation celebrations, the benefits of lurking Ebay, and 90s hardcore.

Let's talk about how heavy this song is...

Madball - Hardcore Lives

80 degree weather in Georgia calls for one thing and one thing only: sleeveless shirts. The best way to sweat your ass off in the heat is in a Madball shirt, which makes being in the warm weather worth it. This is one of my most recent Ebay-pick ups, and I got it for relatively cheap due to the fact that there aren't any sleeves. Definitely happy about this.

Madball is an all-around awesome band. They have been around for probably longer than you've been born and are still one of the most solid bands in hardcore. My first memory of this band was sometime in '04/'05(?) when I saw them play with As I Lay Dying in Atlanta...oof. Good show though, regardless of the obvious divide between the metal and hardcore kids.

This will surely be a staple in my wardrobe this summer. Hardcore lives...and if you don't know, then now you know.

Now playing:
- Backtrack - Deal with the Devil 7"
- Between Earth and Sky. Shit, don't sleep on this band. Members of Trial. They added two of their songs to the final issue of the At Both Ends Zine and they are INSANE. Check it out.
- The Rival Mob - "Bitter Rivals" Demo. Mob rules all, that's the golden rule.

Intro/Changes

Ever since I got into hardcore, I grew a strange liking to band shirts. Each one has a story or message attached to it, and that is where this blog comes in. Shirts stand as being the biggest commonality between hardcore kids these days, obviously. We all wear them, and now this is me appreciating them.

I plan on posting a shirt from my collection as a day-to-day thing, along with how I got it, what it means to me, etc. I'm always open to trades and/or buying more, so get at me. "Awwwww, here it goes"...
